The Belstaff Incline Jacket: Everything You Need to Know
Few brands have the history and commitment of Belstaff when it comes to British outerwear. They have spent a century cultivating the art of what makes a jacket great, from the muddy tracks of motorbike trials to the city streets. That's why today we’ll be looking at the Belstaff Incline jacket, a recent addition to their lineup. The brand has adopted a new look that combines its tough heritage with a sleeker, more modern field jacket silhouette. Come along as Sam reviews why this jacket could be the most adaptable item in your wardrobe for 2026.

Hi guys, Sam here from Michael Stewart Menswear, and welcome back to another video. Today, we're going to take a look at Bellstaff. I’m now wearing a brand new style from Bellstaff, the Incline wax jacket. So we know the Racemaster, we know the Trialmaster, they’re absolute classics, very, very motorcycle heritage inspired, but this jacket, it's a little bit of a twist. It's definitely leading into more country routes, very classical, very smart, very upmarket from the brand that has the ever distinctive badge on the shoulder.
So, what is it? It's a six-ounce wax cotton jacket; it's got all those properties of wax cotton that you come to expect. It's wind and water-resistant, it's going to keep you warm, it's gonna keep you dry, but it's in a fantastic new silhouette that we absolutely just love. Let's take a little bit of a deeper look. We'll look at all the fit, the features, all the little bits that make this jacket very special and a great addition to your wardrobe.
The Belstaff Incline Jacket Features
Let's start at the top and work down. First of all, you’ve got this beautifully soft corduroy collar, which does flip up, and you get the throat latch as well. Therefore, on particularly windy and wet days, you can pop the collar up, latch it, and it's gonna keep your neck warm. Now, this is a feature that we see very much on Barbour jackets. I really do think this is Bellstaff emulating, or at least trying to have a go at their version of a jacket, like Barbour, primarily the Ashby and to be fair, they've done really well with it. It looks smart, and it definitely evokes that same sort of feeling and fit as well.
You've got the placket, which has got press studs just to keep the wind out as well, and a nice, good quality single-way zip. You're not gonna fail on that zip, which is always an important feature. Pocket-wise, plenty of options; there is the iconic chest pocket that you find on nearly every Bellstaff jacket. Again, just to emulate that bike, that motorcycle heritage, it has a map pocket, hence why it’s at a slight angle. The incline jacket also comes with two useful big bellow pockets towards the bottom, a great place to keep all your stuff, and one interior pocket. Corduroy doesn’t stop there; we have a bit of corduroy lining to the inside of the placket and the inside of the cuffs again. Just to add a bit of comfort and just some nice, easy movement. This is all you want in a jacket, something comfortable, practical, and this jacket checks all those boxes.
How Does the Belstaff Incline Jacket Fit?
When it comes to the fit of this jacket, Belstaff have this down as a relaxed fit, and I would agree, it definitely is. I'm wearing size medium. I myself am a 38-inch chest, probably about 5 foot 10, just short of 75, maybe 80 kilos, especially after Christmas. But it fits me pretty nicely as is, just over a nice plain t-shirt. There’s definitely plenty of room under here to layer, to move, I mean, I could definitely wear this with a thicker sweater without any doubts, it’d still be a comfortable fit. Now, the jacket itself is not super padded; it's not padded at all, but it's got a nice cotton lining on the inside, a nice checked cotton lining. However, that's not going to add that much warmth, so the fact that you’ve got room to layer is definitely a plus, but the fact that it looks alright without layering means that it's gonna be a jacket you can wear all year round and really, really get the most out of.
What Colours Does the Incline Jacket Come In?
This season in the Incline jacket, we’re stocking a couple of colourways. We've got the one that I've got on, which is the Navy, and we also have the Fatigue Green, which is the seasonal colour. You know, a really nice, fresh colour for spring, the navy is a classical all rounder. That’s certainly how we like to buy it to give you guys some options. In terms of the colours, no matter what colour you go for in this jacket, you're always gonna get a couple of things. Everything's nice and tonal, so the corduroy collar, the press studs, everything all sits in really, really nicely and then of course the only little bit of contrast is the badge on the shoulder, just to really give it that brand awareness, but both colours look nice and very, very smart in this waxed cotton.
Things to Take Away
That is the brand new Belstaff Incline jacket. I think this is going to be a style that will be a firm favourite, seasons to come, so keep an eye out for it, keep an eye out for new colourways in this as well. That's all for me, and we will catch you on the next one.
