The story of the Jeffery West started back in the year of 1983, in Northampton, the very centre of British Shoemaking, dating back several decades, by childhood friends Mark Jeffery and Guy West. Mr Mark Jeffery and his father ran the local, family owned shoe factory in the town. Guy and Mark started their first business together at the young age of sixteen, selling shoes on various markets throughout the area.
As a pairing, they had to approach an acquaintance, who worked as leather buyer in a nearby shoe factory, to source and then purchase the leather for them. Leading on from this, they would then take the patterns and designs to a closing room in the Northampton area, before taking the upper part of the shoes to another factory, to be made up into finished shoes. Then from here, they would then take back to Jeffery's parents home, to pack into boxes and cartons, so they were then ready to be sold to the general public.
The brand itself was founded in 1987, and from then on, they quickly became one of the finest elite shoe makers on the market, specialising in something bespoke, for the man who wanted something a little different, something unique, yet something edgy and stylish. Jeffery West went on to make shoes, designed for several, fashionable 'looks' . . . whether that be an edgy, gothic style look, all the way to a gentlemanly, suave and sophisticated, smart look . . . for the suited and booted man. Here in 2019, Jefferey West are even more popular of a brand than ever before!
