How does the Union Jack International jacket fit compared to other Barbour jackets?

The Barbour International Union Jack jacket has a relaxed regular fit, unlike the tailored models such as the Ashby or Duke. The Union Jack has a straight cut and a looser fit to emulate the motorcycle jackets of the 1930s. Therefore, the jacket leaves a generous amount of room for layering heavy knitwear in winter months.

Should I size down in the Barbour Union Jack jacket?

Due to the jacket’s generous fit, some of our customers who have a slimmer build choose to size down in the Union Jack jacket. However, if you have a broader chest or a bigger build, we would highly recommend taking your usual size in this jacket, especially if you plan to layer underneath.

What is the difference between the "Union Jack" and the "Original" Barbour International jacket?

While both jackets share the same silhouette, there are three main differences between the models.

Lining: The Union Jacket model features a cold British flag cotton lining, whereas the Original model has the classic traditional tartan lining that Barbour is known for.

Finish: The Union Jack has a shiny thornproof wax finish, whereas the original has a classic matte finish.

Patch: The most noticeable difference is the Union Jack flag embroidered to the chest on the Union Jack model, which is not featured on the Original. Both jackets feature the iconic yellow Barbour International logo.

Can I attach a hood or an extra zipped liner to the Jacket?

Unlike some of Barbour's classic wax jackets, the Union Jack International jacket is not compatible with Barbour’s hoods and zip-in liners. The jacket is designed to be a standalone statement piece.
