The most common question our customers ask us is how the two models compare. The original Westmorland was notorious for an oversized, boxy fit, whereas the new Westmorland has a relaxed regular fit. We now recommend that our customers buy their usual size when it comes to the Westmorland due to the fit change.

Is the Westmorland gilet warm enough for winter?

From our experience, the Westmorland gilet is ideal for the autumn-winter months, thanks to its wadding and padded lining. Though the Westmorland is a sleeveless bodywarmer, the light quilting provides great core insulation, especially when layered over a heavy piece of knitwear or flannel shirt.

Does it have internal pockets or just external ones?

The Westmorland features two internal pockets; one is a zip-closed pocket, and the other is a Velcro-closed pocket. However, the Westmorland is more famously known for its large stud-fastened bellows pockets and moleskin-lined handwarmer pockets on the exterior of the gilet.
