Do I need to size up in the Barbour International Duke jacket?

Due to its tailored fit, we recommend that all of our customers size up in the Barbour Duke jacket, especially if you plan to wear heavy knitwear or layer underneath it.

Is the Barbour Duke jacket waterproof?

The Duke jacket offers great water and wind resistance thanks to its 6oz Thornproof wax cotton outer layer. However, long exposure in heavy downpours will eventually cause water to seep through due to the jacket being sticketed together rather than heat-sealed.

Is the Duke jacket warm enough for winter?

Yes, the Barbour Duke jacket is an ideal winter jacket thanks to its quilted lining, making it instantly warmed than some of the unlined collection. However, for sub-zero temperatures you may want to size up for layering purposes.

Does the Duke jacket come with a hood?No, the Duke does not come with a hood and is not compatible with any of Barbour’s attachable hoods due to its biker-style silhouette.

Can I wear the Barbour International Duke jacket for motorcycle riding?

The short answer is no; the Duke cannot be used as protective motorcycle gear. While the style of the Duke is designed to be motorcycle-inspired (a reworking of the Barbour Enfield), it is a lifestyle jacket which lacks the armour and safety needed for motorbike riding.

How to tell if my Duke jacket is navy or black?

Telling Barbour’s navy apart from black can be tricky, especially when the jacket is brand new, and the wax is fresh. The easiest way to tell is to check the small, white manufacturer's tag. In the code, it will explicitly state the colour code: NY91 or NY71 stands for navy, while BK11 or BK91 stands for black. On the navy Duke, the corduroy trim and the lining are a dark navy blue. If you hold a piece of black clothing right up against the collar corduroy or lining and it looks blue or mismatched, your jacket is navy.
