Hi guys, Sam here from Michael Stewart Menswear, and today we're going to take a look at the Barbour Spring-Summer 26 collection. Now I don't actually have a rail big enough to fit all on. So, it's going to be a bit of a whistle-stop tour. I'm going to show you a few of the key pieces. But as always, remember a lot of these come in so many more colourways, and you can shop them all in-store or online.
But, without further ado, let's get on and have a look at some of these fantastic Spring-Summer 26 Barbour pieces. Okay, I'll work my way through. We're going to start with some of the heavier pieces, the outerwear and work our way through down to jersey.
Barbour Broughton Gillet
So, let's start with the broughton, I think that's probably the right way to pronounce it. But we've got a lovely gilet. It's fibre down, so nice and warm. But, being a gillet, it's super adaptable. Layer it over a half-zip, as I'm wearing, wear it just over a t-shirt, over a polo, over a shirt.
Whatever you want to do, this is classic Barbour through and through. So, great bit of weather protection, but also packed full of lovely little details. Nice embroidery on the pocket, lovely leather piping around the whole thing. Leather patch on the back, really just screams classic Barbour. Comes in olive green and navy. And it's a nice, comfortable, regular fit, nice and easy.
Barbour Baywick Showerproof Jacket
Okay, next, something that has literally just landed. If you're looking for a nice lightweight waterproof jacket, the Baywick showerproof is going to do the job for you nicely. Good, easy, regular fit, easy to layer, easy to pack, and throw on. So, if you're going anywhere and you think the weather is going to take a turn. This is the jacket you're going to keep you covered. Lovely, little cotton lining with some of the seasonal tartan on the inside there. And as always with every Barbour jacket, you're going to get all the features that you love. Nice bit of subtle embroidery, good two-way zip, nice and reliable press-studs, as well as being hooded. Nice and easy. A fantastic little waterproof jacket.
Barbour Rokig Waterproof Jacket
And, if you're looking for something a little bit smarter in the waterproof jacket department. Then, we of course have this, this is the lovely Rokig. We've done a video on this on the navy, this is the beige colourway. Super smart, a nice timeless rain mac. Again, subtle branding, regular fit, seasonal tartan on the inside. What is not to love about that?
Barbour Summer Royston Showerproof Jacket
Now, if Harrington style is more your bag. Then we, of course, have this. This is the Summer Royston, raglan sleeve, elasticated cuff, and waist to give it that classic Harrington look. Some nice riveted pockets as well, just to lay into that little hardware feel with it. Subtle embroidery, all tonal, of course. And, a really nice, regular, easy-going fit. It's showerproof as well , nice breathable mess lining. Super, super easy again, great lightweight layering jacket. It's one that's going to see you through the Spring-Summer seasons, no problems at all.
Barbour SS26 Overshirts
Okay, so moving away from technical jackets. Overshirts are obviously a huge category this time of year. Super, easy to wear, nice to layer, can give you a bit of extra warmth without having to have a full jacket. Also, great to dress up or down. But a nice casual option we have here is the washed overshirt. As the name suggests, it's got a nice worn-in, lived-in feel. It's garment dyed. So looks and wears fantastically. A little bit unique on each one. This one comes in green and navy. Of course, two really easy-to-style colours. True to size, regular fit, a couple of little pockets on here. This is a true overshirt, in the traditional sense. So, we absolutely love this guy, in a lovely, hard-wearing cotton as well. So, you can definitely get some wear out of this.
Barbour Knitwear SS26
Okay, so that's the outer layers done. Let's move on to mid-layers. Now, a style that we bring back season after season is the cotton half-zip. Of course, we've always got navy, but we like to bring in some nice seasonality as well. Ties in nicely with the wider collection. So, as I'm wearing it, it is the lovely light blue, crisp, clean, and dead easy for Spring-Summer. We of course also have it in the very classic, olive green as well. Now, what I like about this is it's not just a simple cotton half-zip; it's got some great little features as well. You've of course got the ribbed neckline, cuff and collar. That's gonna keep it all very, very tastefully Barbour. Subtle embroidery on the chest, all very tonal. But what really gives it that Barbour pop is just the little bit of seasonal tartan put just under the placket there. So, nice to tie in to the rest of the collection and always looks dead smart.
Barbour Shirting for SS26
Okay, so shirting for Barbour is always huge. Of course, there's always going to be something like a full-scale tartan check. In Winter, we have stuff like the Dunoon's, but in Spring-Summer, we do have a few tartans. But what I wanted to bring attention to is just a couple of different styles. These are from the country collection. So, they come in nice regular fit, so not tailored, true to size. Good, proper-fitting shirts are very, very classic country. So, we've got this in a couple of colours. We've got a pink and a green gingham. Again, dead easy to style colourways tie in nicely with the broader collection. And then if you're after more of a country check, nice whites, some pinks, some blues running through it. Ties in nicely with the wider collection as well. This thing is super tasteful, so we love both of these shirts, a couple of colourways in each, and of course, you can still get your timeless tartans that tie in with things like this.
Barbour Jersey Collection SS26
Lastly, let's take a look at the jersey. So, a winner, as always, is the tartan pique polo. Now, we've got so many colours on this, I couldn't fit them all on the rail. But I thought just highlight this. It is a lovely, bright, crisp blue embroidered logo on the chest. But what we like about these is what we were saying when we were on about the cotton half-zips. Is that there is always a nice bit of tartan underneath the placket? They count as a tailored fit, but they're very true to size. I'd say normally take your regular size on these. 100% cotton pique polo, great value for money, excellent price. And, more colours than anything else that we stock. So, there's pinks, there's blues, there's a beige, there's absolutely all sorts. We've even just got some greens that have been delivered only yesterday. So, make sure you check those out. That is always a winner.
And, something to tie in, of course, is the essential t-shirt. So, in the same way cotton, 100% nice and easy going. It is a slightly tailored fit, but again true to size. I'm a medium, I'd wear a medium. Embroidered logo, usually, a contrast on the t-shirt as well, so it stands out. But, a great layering piece. I mean, something like that underneath an overshirt, you're onto a winner.
Barbour Cascade Sports Caps
Okay, and of course, let's not forget that sometimes even in Spring-Summer we need to accessorise. And, one of the best accessories that we do from the Barbour mainline collection is, of course, the cascade cap. Now, we have it in a good few colours this season. There are a couple of shades of blue, I believe there's a green and a beige as well. Dead easy to style, great piece. I have nearly every colour in this, and I wear them all the time. Ask anyone here. I'm a big cap guy, so this does tick the boxes for me. 100% cotton, nice and easy to wear. Just a winner, all day long. If you haven't got yourself one, definitely get one, it's perfect for the Spring-Summer season.
Things to Take Away
So, that is my very brief whistle-stop tour of the Barbour Spring-Summer collection. Now, that's not even touching the International range or even some of the Steve McQueen pieces. This is just Barbour and a few of the country pieces; they are absolutely timeless, classic, and we really, truly love them. Of course, we're always going to keep some of the waxes. I mean, some of those are going to be great all year round. But, as a Spring-Summer collection goes, Barbour is not to be slept on.
Don't just think of it as a winter jacket brand, really do think of it as something for all-year wear. And, I think this collection really does show that it can suit every guy, every day, no matter your style. You can really dress it and wear it as you want. You're always going to get dependable Barbour quality, some great, nice little detailing as well. And that, for me, is just what makes these clothes so, so special.
Again, as I mentioned at the beginning, if you want to check these out, we've got more colourways in all of these garments. Then head over to our website or make sure you head into our Selby store. We'd be absolutely thrilled to show you the full collection. So, make sure you get shopping, and we will see you at the next one.
