Paul and Shark AW25 Collection Review

Hi guys, Sam here from Michael Stewart menswear and on today's YouTube video you're joining us from our Selby store. A little change of scenery, but I thought rather than bringing an entire collection to me, I would go to the collection and show you our brand new autumn winter Paul and Shark collection. Now it is looking better than ever, we love Paul and Shark, it’s the brand that we have stocked the longest. Over two decades Paul and Shark has been on our shelf. So I want to show you all about autumn-winter 25, let's look at a few key pieces and why you should be wearing this fantastic Italian brand. Let's get into it.
The History of Paul and Shark
Paul and Shark, they’re a classic, timeless brand that has been worn and enjoyed by generations. It's been going since the 70s. It’s an Italian brand that really knows what it does, and it does it very, very well. It's been seen worn on the terraces, it's been worn by nearly everybody and anybody and purely because the collection and the quality is just that good. This stuff lasts forever, it is definitely worth the money because once you buy it once you’re never going to have to buy it again, unless you want it in another colour. Now Paul and Shark is synonymous with yachting, with nautical, with that really, really timeless seafaring design and that really comes through in their collection. And really for the collection we can get you covered head to toe, from headwear all the way down to bottoms such as jeans, we've got a little bit of everything. So, let's take a look at my favorite pieces for this autumn winter 25 collection.
Paul and Shark Outerwear
So, let's begin with outerwear, first and foremost the Typhoon 2000 mixed media as I'm wearing now. Now the Typhoon 2000 is their ground breaking technology, it's just a really great fabric that's wind and water resistant so it'll keep you dry, it’ll keep you warm, it'll do everything you need it to do in an outerwear focused fabric. Now this mixed media piece is lovely, super subtle, nice two ways zip, good regular fit, I'm wearing a medium right now. Lovely soft knit on the arms and some nice subtle branding just to the shoulder there. In terms of outerwear for something a little bit heftier that's really going to give you weather protection we've got this lovely mac. Nice clean, crisp design, concealed placket, nice little bit of padding to it, just a little bit to keep you warm and some really nice tasteful, subtle branding on the back in the contrast leather with the metal, it just looks really, really smart. It doesn't need to be ‘shouty’, it doesn't need to be bold, it just needs to be Paul and Shark, which does things beautifully and subtly really, really well.
Paul and Shark Knitwear
Next, let's take a look at knitwear, now this is a massive category for us, especially with the Paul and Shark range because their knitwear is exceptional, it’s second to none. We've got some absolutely wonderful pieces, super heavyweight, super hefty these are going to last you forever and ever. Some are all wool, some are cotton, some are a nice mix, there's definitely some options there but what you'll get is some exceptional detailing and some timeless, timeless styling. They're all regular fit, they're all true to size, they're all made with beautiful hardware that feels absolutely quality and have these little bits of elements on. So we've got the Typhoon 2000 sort of contrast little panel there over the placket, just to give it a nice little design edge. If corduroy is your thing then there's plenty of that in option. Nice corduroy panelling onto the shoulders there. Again, it looks really, really smart, and we love a bit of contrast. Or we can go for something super, super simple with a little bit of tipping or just plain this thing is hefty, it's an absolute monster of a piece of knitwear, super heavyweight, super, super nice, subtle, subtle branding to the shoulder that is just timeless Paul and Shark.
P&S Overshirts
Now, overshirts are massive, especially into autumn winter across all our brands, everyone's doing an overshirt and a lot of people are doing corduroy. With Paul and Shark they've got the Corduroy overshirt, this thing is lovely, a little bit slimmer to size so I maybe would size up especially if you’re wanting to do some heavy layering, but beautiful soft cotton corduroy, nice fit, definitely nice and neat and quite, quite sharp. Tonal badging on this one so they've gone without the gold, so navy on navy or light blue on light blue. These are just super fresh and very, very easy to style, absolute luxury.
Polo and T-shirt Collection
Let's take a look at some core classics, now these are always in the collection, they have been tweaked slightly so you might be used to sort of a bigger Paul and Shark yachting badge with the full shark on. They’ve paired it down a little bit, brought it back, neatened it up, now on the core polos you've just got this lovely little shark. 100% cotton, regular fit, come in a rainbow of colours, these things are essential. You really can't get a nicer quality polo, they do feel absolutely wonderful.
Same goes for the t-shirts, lovely soft cotton, nice little badge detailing. It's iconic Paul and Shark, just paired back, it's grown up, it's nice and steady. And the same of course follows into some sweat programme as well, so nice little badge, or if you want to get a little bit more adventurous you can go for something with the slightly bigger all-over print design as well. These are core classics for a reason because they're always in, year after year, but they're just great to stock up your wardrobe with, it makes the basis of any good outfit.
So as good as the core basics are we obviously love a bit of seasonality, we like to mix it up and bring you some new stuff. This season they've got a wonderful selection of tipped polos. So what you're going to get is the same lovely soft cotton construction, nice regular fit but nice bit of tipping to the collar and some under placket detailing as well but in the light blue, navy with the green and we've also got a bit more of a tonal black with charcoal which is absolutely wonderful. These three are a definite must to mix up your polo rotation.
Jeans for Men from Paul and Shark
Lastly, let's look at the legs. Now jeans and denim maybe isn't the first thing you think of when you think of Paul and Shark but it is something that we sell out of so, so fast. We actually had two styles of denim in this season and one have already gone, so you've got to be quick. We’ve got another pair here though, these are absolutely lovely, beautiful quality denim and they’ve give it some really, really lovely design features. So nice bit of badge appeal on this one, leather patch badge, two toned, nice subtle branding. A good slim fit, it's not too slim though, it is just easy and nice to wear and the denim has a lovely stretch to it as well so super, super comfortable, super quality and very, very luxurious. The Paul and Shark denim is not one to be slept on and I recommend you definitely give it a look. Word of warning however, the leg length is a little bit longer, very Italian but all that means is that we can get it taken up to your perfect size.
Things to Take Away
So there we have it, that is my whistle-stop tour of Paul and Shark autumn winter 25. Absolutely fantastic collection, the quality is unreal but don't take my word for it, just consider the fact that we've had it on our shelves for 25 years plus. Now we wouldn't stock it for that long if it wasn't absolutely quality and of course if you guys didn't buy it.
