The History of Saucony

Founded in 1898, on the banks of Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. By 1910, the Saucony factory was manufacturing around 800 pairs of shoes each day. Determined to break into the growing athletic community, they introduced their first running shoe – the 7446 Spike. Not gaining the fame they deserved until the late 1970s when their reputation was cemented as the running powerhouse it is today. 1979 saw two of their signature running shoes placing in the Runner’s World Top 10.
The Saucony Jazz trainer is the most popular and is one of their best-selling of all time. This was introduced to the world in 1981, after working closely with podiatrists to create a comfortable running shoe that could cope with distance running. The Jazz trainer was built upon to create the Shadow which features a more supportive heel cup.
The start of the 90s marked the release of Saucony’s trademark
Ground Reaction Inertia Device

Present day, the brand's roster of trainers is an amalgamation of technically brilliant running trainers with a streetwear aesthetic.
