Hey guys, Sam here from Michael Stewart Menswear, and today we're going to take a look at a little bit of seasonality from Belstaff. We love Belstaff; their clothing collection's outerwear is second to none, and they’ve brought out a new jacket for this season. It's called the Force jacket, and it has some great little features. It really is a proper companion for the autumn-winter season. It's lightweight, it's windproof, it’s waterproof, it’s insulated, it's got everything you need to battle the elements this season. So let's take a look at the fit, the features, and everything that you need to know about the brand new Belstaff Force jacket. Let's get into it.

Is the Force Jacket Weather Protected?

So, let’s get technical for a second. This jacket is made from Belstaff's recycled, technical polyester fabric, which is going to give you protection against the rain and wind. Honestly, it'll feel like nothing's even happening out there, you'll be none the wiser because you’ll be wrapped up, nice and cosy in this lovely jacket. It's also got a recycled Primaloft insulation as well; it's not too heavy, but the padding is super, super efficient and effective. So, you're getting none of the bulk but all of the quality insulation you need to keep you nice and warm and dry.
Now, also in terms of weather protection, you're gonna see some nice little details such as the weatherproof zips, that is both on the placket and on the pockets as well. Inside the pockets are hand warmers as well, so they've got nice fleece lining to keep your hands lovely and toasty. And of course, to add that extra element of weather protection, a built-in hood, so you can wear it as I've currently got it, tucked away, nice and neat, very smart, or when the rain does get particularly bad, pop the hood out and you are good to go. Weather protection is first and foremost this jacket's main job.

Features of the Belstaff Force Jacket

Now, second to its effectiveness in bad weather, of course, it is its Style. This is classic Belstaff through and through, a timeless design, lovely and modern but still harking back to some of that brand's fantastic heritage. Now pocket-wise, you've got plenty of choice, there are two zip pocket hand warmers on the side, there are two sort of normal press stud pockets, nice big pockets here, also fleece lined, everything just gonna keep you nice and toasty on this jacket. Two pockets to the chest as well, so it's carrying on that sort of traditional Trialmaster-esque four-pocket design. Very, very classic for Belstaff, and then internally one zip pocket too, so you can keep your very expensive, valuable belongings close to your heart, somewhere where no one's gonna get to them.
To seal it all up, we've got the two-way zip that again, as previously mentioned, is weatherproofed as it is actually fully water resistant. Nice, functional, and super, super reliable, and a press stud placket over the top just to seal everything up and make it look nice and neat. Adjustable cuffs as well, so if you've got little wrists like me, you can close that down, again, just stops the wind and anything getting up there, nice snug fit. I think that is it for the features, oh, and of course, we've got to get the badge in, they've got their slightly silicon rubberised badge to the shoulder, which looks fantastic, super tonal, it's a bit of a stealthier Belstaff jacket, but it is Belstaff nonetheless.

How Does the Belstaff Force Jacket Fit?

So, the fit of the jacket. If you’re buying this, what size are you gonna go for? I think historically, Belstaff has always been a brand that people don't really know what size to go for. Some of the jackets are really, really small, some of the clothing is really small, and then they'll bring out a sort of street style, a very oversized t-shirt that just throws a spanner in the works. Thankfully, what I can tell you with this jacket is, it's just normal. It's a normal-fitting jacket, it's true to size, it is cut to a regular, relaxed fit, but I recommend everyone to take their normal size. I’m a 38 chest, five foot ten, size medium, usually across the board in most things, and in this I'm wearing the medium, as you can see here. It's got a bit of room in it. I can definitely layer if I wanted to wear a sweatshirt, something like this half zip underneath it from Belstaff, that would go fantastic with it, but I've got the room to wear it. But just over a t-shirt as well, when things are a little bit warmer, it also works wonders. So take your usual size and you will be as right as rain.

Things to Take Away
