Napapijri the brand was established in Italy in 1987, when a producer of travel bags created something called a Bering Bag, basically a waxed canvas duffel bag, which was marketed towards travelers. This was actually the first product to showcase the official Napapijri name.
In 1990, the company began to design and produce clothing and accessories, which resulted in the introduction of their signature Skidoo jacket, a rain proof, lightweight anorak that was specifically designed for extreme temperatures.
The brand continued adding to its vast range of products in the 2000s, producing a footwear line, along with a children's range. The first Napapijri store opened it's doors in 1997, in Chamonix, France. Since that time, the company has continued to add more and more stores, opening its 100th store in Stockholm, Sweden, back in 2012. Also, during that year, the first ever Asian Napapijri store was opened in Seoul, Korea.
In 2009, Andrea Cannelloni came on as their Vice President and General Manager, later becoming the now Brand President. Cannelloni had previously served as a Creative Director for the fashion label powerhouse - Hugo Boss.
In 2017, Napapijri decided to add a brand new collection, and has been evolving and growing ever since.
