Is the Barbour Powell jacket waterproof?

The Barbour Powell jacket is not waterproof; its outer shell is made of 100% matte polyester rather than wax. So, though it can handle a lighter rain shower, a heavy downpour would soak through the jacket.

How warm is the Powell jacket? Does it have a fleece lining?

The Barbour Powell jacket is significantly warmer than other light quilted jackets, such as the Heritage Liddesdale, thanks to its 50g thermal wadding and polar fleece inner lining, making it a great autumn-winter jacket.

How does the Barbour Powell fit compare to other Barbour jackets?

We find that the Barbour Powell jacket has a regular, boxy fit when compared to the slim-fitting Heritage Liddesdale. Due to its regular fit, we recommend that customers take their usual size in the Powell.

Can you machine wash the Barbour Powell?

Unlike Barbour’s waxed jackets, the Powell can be machine washed at 30°C and then hung to dry naturally. We do not recommend that you tumble dry the jacket as this can affect the thermal wadding.

Are the sleeves lined with fleece on the Barbour Powell jacket?

To make the jacket easy to take off and on, the sleeves are not fleece lined. Instead, they have a smooth polyamide lining to prevent shirt sleeves from bunching up when you put the coat on.
